How do I make a reservation?

Bookings can be made online.

Our reservations team is in the office daily from 9am.
What is the dress code?

The dress code is smart casual.
Are children allowed?
-
Yes, we welcome children.

Please add them to your booking number and advise if they require a highchair, pram space or regular seat.

We have children’s menus available from ages 5-12 years old.
Dietary requirements and allergies:

Please inform us of any dietary requirements/allergies when making your reservation.

The kitchen requires 24 hours’ notice for allergies/dietary requirements to be accommodated.

Guests with a combination of a nut and another allergy cannot be catered too, unfortunately.
Are your meats Halal?

Yes, all our meat suppliers are halal.

We can provide Halal high tea; Though best practice is used in the preparation of our menu items, there is trace elements present within the kitchen and as such we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination will not occur.
How does the High Tea service work?

High Tea packages are all the same in relation to food; each guest will receive their own portion of a selection of finger sandwiches, petit fours, savory pastries a scone and a tea/or coffee.

Food will be shared on a stand with another guest (unless there are allergies or dietary requirements)

You can upgrade to an alcoholic package for a cost.

Guests can mix and match the menu offerings; the whole table is not required to order the same package.
- Light tea menu is only available Monday-Friday.
Can we share a High Tea?
- No, each guest aged 5+ is required to order one menu package.
Is BYO available?

External celebration cakes, pastries or other edible items or alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

We have a celebration plate available $9 per plate. This features a ‘Vanilla Sponge Cake with Berries’ with a candle and a ‘Happy Birthday’ or a ‘Congratulations’ dark chocolate plaque.

What can we do for celebrations & decorations?

As your booking will take place alongside other patrons; speeches, presentations or games are not permitted.

We do not permit any balloons or confetti in the venue – decorations such as a small floral centrepiece will be permitted.

You are not permitted to have professional photographers as part of your booking.
Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we do you can refer to our online store.
Do you accept red balloon vouchers?

Red Balloon vouchers are accepted daily.

Red Balloon vouchers must be redeemed prior to arrival, we cannot accept a voucher at the venue if it has not been redeemed.
Parking & Directions

The Tea Room QVB is located on the Northern End (Market Street) of the Queen Victoria Building. Please take the lift to Level 3 which will open into our foyer.

The QVB ‘Wilson Car Park’ entrance is located via York Street. We are not affiliated with them and do not validate parking.
Can I get to The Tea Room QVB via public transport

Town Hall station is below the QVB.

There are many bus options that arrive to The QVB.
Disabled Guests:
We have ambulant facilities such as:

A portable ramp to enter the dining room; alternatively, there are 2 small steps with a handrail to enter the dining room.

An Ambulant/Family bathroom located just off the dining room – please ask the staff on the day for assistance.

Within the Queen Victoria Building – Wheelchair accessible toilets are located on the Lower Ground Floor near the security office as well as on Level 1 Druitt St end of the building. An ambulant toilet is also located on Level 1 Market St end of the building.
Do you take group bookings?
Yes, Monday – Friday we can host up to 60 guests.
Saturday-Sundays a maximum of 12 guests (we do not split groups).
The light tea menu is not available to groups of 10+.

All Group Bookings must complete the following:
– A group booking form and pay a $200 deposit within 48 hours of making the reservation.
– Final numbers and full payment is required 5 days prior to booking. We are unable to offer a refund for any confirmed persons that do not attend on the day.
